ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER: Eric Stephens reports forward Bobby Ryan hasn't heard anything new regarding contract talks between his agent and the Anaheim Ducks, saying he's not frustrated but "kind of worried" over the lack of progress. Ryan isn't seeking to become the Ducks highest paid forward but is seeking a four-year contract which would take him to UFA status. Ryan also acknowledged if he's still unsigned after July 1st he might need to consider any offer sheets sent his way from rival clubs. Ducks management have stated they have no intention of trading Ryan and he said his first priority is to remain in Anaheim.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: Hat tip to "Sniper". Still plenty of time left for the Ducks to re-sign Ryan but they would certainly be playing with fire if he's still unsigned on July 1st. He's just coming off his entry level contract so he doesn't have arbitration rights but I believe the Ducks could file to take him to arbitration, if only to make him ineligible to receive offer sheets. The NY Rangers did that with Henrik Lundqvist to buy themselves a little extra time to re-sign him, which they ultimately did without going before an arbiter.
